Film completed

Yay we finally completed our film after some ups and downs on Thursday, unfortunately not to the deadline but we tried to make up for it. we stayed after school for 3 days just to meet the next deadline of Friday. Anyway Issy managed to collect some "scream" sounds from the internet. And we some screams from other people to add to the affect. These "screams" and "stops" are introduced while panning around the dead body. This really adds some more tension suspense as the audience want to see what’s happening in the background, but they don’t. We have added some orchestral music to act as the BGM this also creates tensions and fits in with the thriller convention. Also after looking at the film as a whole we realised some shots were just random and had no meaning to the actual film. I also made a DVD cover just so it gives the audience an insight to what is in the film; it also shows what the thriller genre as a whole shows just from what is on the front and back cover. This DVD cover also shows a 'blurb' just a little insight into the plot of the film. now all left to do is do sections 3+4 and the appendices for the 18th April (im away in Arran for Geog Trip from 15th- 20th will give to my sis to give 2 either mrs b or mr m sorry :) )

hi i have got some good sound effects off the internet to use tomorrow but i lost my digistick at school last week (grrrrrrr) but i am going to try and borrow one off someone so i can bring them in. lauren have you got music? xx issy xx

Hey, i thought tat i would add our still images to the blog.These image are our going to be shown to the suspect by the decterctive in the interigation room. these mages are going to act as graphic matches as we are going to zoom into the picture so it comes to life. but in black and white like a flashback. we choose this as it is very conventional for a thriller.
this week we have stayed behind after school to do some of our editing to use our time as effective as possible. me and issy managed to finish filming on wednesday afternoon and that was the interigation. like issy siad before we are going to put come random sounds of screams in etc to add to the tension and suspense so that the audeince is even more curious as to what is going on in the plot. also issy and i took some random shots of some objects like a pencil rolling, a door handle as these all realte t o our school clues theme. (lauren was on a driving lesson :( ) unfortunatly we have not managed to complete our film for the deadline of today but will hopefully hve it bigger and better by monday. one thing that we have all realised is that its surprsing how it is so easy to stray from our storyboard ideas as you seem to just develop on them once you start filming. also another thing we were lucky that we were able to film our establishing shot outside ixworth police station which works really well especially with the zoom into the window of the interview room. anyway i have rambled on loads now so im off.

update

hello! thought id write down all our progress. we have totally finished filming now and it's looking good. we made a few changes from the story board to make shots more interesting etc! i made the yearbook prop to use at the murder scenes and it came out well. the reshooting was a good idea and we are all pleased with it this time. im not sure how 2 put clips on this blog yet but will try and find out. stayed after school 2day 2 start editing and it went really well got quite a lot done and know where we are going with it. thought about sound as well; me n justine thought something orchestral would be good n when i got home i thought a loud ticking clock could build tension etc. when we filmed the police station we got some good bird sounds so think we should keep them. joe n ollie ended up acting 4 us and they were very good n we are very grateful n i bossed them about a lot! o and also i think we should have slow-mo sounds during the flashbacks of bangs and girls screaming etc and i think it would be really effective n a good convention of thrillers (the fugative AND memento) so tell me if you think that's good. anyway more editing 2moz! woop! xx issy xx

Women hey!

Lol we make me laugh!

due to my emotional-wreck-ness, and issy's perfectionist-ness [bloody women] we decided to re-do all the shots we did this morning.. meaning we had to change our plans slightly.. as we didnt have chandler (or rhys) to do the footsteps..

oh well.. will be fine in the end.. just got 2 get section 1 & 2 done now!

wooooo!! started shooting our film today. but didnt actually turn out to be be that succesful. after shoot a couple of deaths we realised that it needed to be more realistic. so we have decided to actually make our own year book with the actual school photos and pupils names alongside them. after rethinking our shots we are planning to shoot our deaths on monday. so hopefully that will turn out to be more successful.

p.s well done with the fab storyboards Issy!! :)

yay worked out how 2 do a blog! we have finishd our story boards! they are v gd if i do say so myself. love lauren's idea of having school photos behind the opening credits to match the murder link! we are filming wednesday but really need 2 find some girls that will act dead 4 us! i will ask/beg my friends tomorrow. other than that it's all good. lauren, can you tell dom and chandler about costumes if we are planning on filming flashbacks aswell as the police interview. xx issy xx

i like the idea of emailing questionaires because i think we should get good honest results without us pestering them.lol. i have started graphing some our results from our questioniares which we have already conducted and found that our plot is actually fitting in really well with peoples opinions of thrillers and what they would like to see.

yeah i think the link with the school as a code would be good as it would be quite easy to put across to the audience. like school uniform? badges? student cards? all options. it might be an idea to do another focus group to see what people think would work best and fit in with our plot.

i hadnt thought about putting the photos (flashbacks) as they come in the news. it could be an option. but not sure how we could make it work. would we use reporters style? i dont know where we would be able to show the murders actually happening --the destinations?

i think we should try and ask the police if they will allow us to use one of their interview rooms. it could make it very realistic. its worth a try. Ixworth police station sounds good because i dont know where the one in Bury is. at least at Ixworth we are garenteed to have police cars sitting out side to set the scene, but it mite be worth trying to find the one in Bury so we can compare.

well done Lauren for getting some actors :) i cant think who else to ask, but we will find people.

To Do List

Ok so im bored and im thinking what we need to do and what can we do that not everyone has done...

we've done some audience reasearch so need to write up our findings.. could make a questionnaire online - see if we get some more responses?

need to finalise our plot [really liking mr. m's idea about the victims all coming from the same school - some kind of revenge.. ]

and are the photos of the victims at the crime scene or the ones they show on the news?

then im sure issy will want 2 redo our storyboard about 7 more times so it's neat enough :P [love u issy ]

then we need 2 decide on a location [are we seriously going 2 ask 2 use a real interview room? cant see them letting us..? and are we still using ixworth police station? ]

obviously then we can get filming.. then the fun really starts

also somewhere in ther we need 2 write those essays.. find actors [besides the immense chadler and dom who we have now officially shot gunned so nerr 2 any1 else that wanted them].. decide on music.. oh not much then..

dont i feel better 4 writing that all down..

Woo I Figured It Out!

aww its justine and issy :D

miss helped me and issy figure this thing out (thanks miss :D) so thought id copy and paste the stuff i wrote..

really need peoples help and ideas - any input would be great!!

just thought id outline our ideas so far.. even though it isnt a lot and we are clearly behind every1 else! (we need 2 get r buts in gear girlies lol)

ok so basicly we want 2 start with an establishing shot of a police station - thinking about using the 1 in ixworth.. mainly because we dont know where the one in bury is...then cut to an interview room with the conventional light hanging from the ceiling, ect with main character and detective.

story board explains the next bit much better but basicly we will have a birds eye view show of the desk as the photo of each victim is shown 2 the main character. each picture will then trigger a *flashback* of the victim being murdered..we are trying 2 figure out what the link between the victims will be. any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.. we want it 2 be quite subtle so the audience dont guess it immediately, but not 2 difficult 2 understand so the viewers understand it at the end. you know, one of those kick yourself moments when u think "why didnt i think of that" (classic thriller)

any way that will do for now.. hopefully il figure out how 2 get on 2 the blog bit eventually and il copy and paste this into a post lol

YAY finally managed to sort out this blog!! Sorry Lauren and Issy the background and stuff is a bit rubbish but u can change it all minor details. We have now conduced questionaires which have given us an insight as to what the audience is looking for in a Thirller. This has helped us brainstorm many ideas which enabled us to come up with an outline of our possible plot.
